A Personal Letter from the Founder/Director

Dear Friend and Fellow Mom:
As a mom of two boys with special dietary needs, I know the frustrations and challenges you face.
-
I know how difficult it is to find foods that your children will like and eat.
-
I know how time consuming shopping can be when you are reading the fine print of every label.
-
I know how hard it is to learn new cooking techniques - especially baking!
-
I know how heartbreaking it is to tell your child he/she can't have the treat at school.
-
I know how stressful it is to travel and eat out.
Special dietary needs can be a total shock to your lifestyle! It may have been a physician or therapist that suggested you change your child's diet, but didn't have the time to go into detail about how to implement this new way of eating. You were left on your own to figure it out. You can go to the internet to do some research, but who do you trust when so many of the websites have conflicting information? You may go to your local library, but who has the time to read all the books on nutrition? You can turn to your friends and family, but do they really know what you are up against? To get started off on the right foot, it is helpful to have support every step of the way.
When I was faced with a gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free and peanut-free diet for my boys, my kitchen and my world were turned upside down. I am so thankful to have had an education and training in childhood nutrition to get me through this huge change. I am not sure what I would have done without this background.
This is why I am on a Mission... A Nutrition Mission to be exact. To support moms through this difficult time. Who are struggling with adopting a new diet for their family. It isn't an easy task. So, join me on this Mission and get the support, understanding and education you need and deserve to take charge of your family's nutrition.
Yours In Health,
Beth
